Pirates vs Pontarddulais

The game this week was at Pontarddulais and played in brilliant sunshine. A good turnout meant the Pirates fielded a different team in each half and our captain for the day was Connor.  In the first half good work at the breakdown and good recycling meant that a number of try scoring opportunities were created. These were finished off well by Liam, Tommy and Jon. Good tackling across the team restricted the opportunities for Pontarddulais and at half time the Pirates led 5-0.

The second half started off in a similar way with strong running, good work at the breakdown and tries for Morgan, Will and Jake C. The match lost a little structure as more and more mauls were allowed by the referee and Pontarddulais came back into the match a little. The score for the half was 4-1 and for the whole match 9-1 to the Pirates.

After the match a short training match between the two Pirates' teams was played and this game being, if anything, was even more fiercely contested than the main match.

The Player of the Week was shared by three players for showing some great progress and recepients of the illusive trophy were Matthew, Josh and Tomas.
