Wether Alert No GAME SUNDAY!

Great training game last Sunday, looking at developing some aspects of our game...Aggression in the contact area, wipeouts and passing the ball into space to allow our runners space to score tries.

Rhyddian was man of the match for excellent play in more than one area of his game...

Like I said, make the most of the weather.. initial plan is to train at Bishopston but check the bolg as all always...The greatest plans of mice and men..... massive Autumn gale due to strike us Sunday morning!

Penlan Cancelled: Taining Match 25th 10:00 Bishopston

It was an excellent performance against South Gower and they were concerned when we were ahead after the first 10. We have certainly upped the level since our last meeting. Very impressed with the large number who braved the rain on Tues for a quality training session. Beginning to get some aggression into the forwards and momentum with running. Also some signs of off-loading and more team play emerging.
Penlan have no U9 so we will play a match against each other.

Focus Points

Aggresive Running by ball carriers + recycle to scrum halves
Backs maintaining defensive & attacking line and staying out of pile-ups
Contine Ruck & Breakdown area traing

The 'backs' for this game will be encouraged to stay out of the mauls to keep structure

South Gower Game

Nice weather but the wrong result. The results were as follows:

Team for the 1st and 3rd Quarter: Mumbles 2 South Gower 3

Team for the 2nd and 4th Quarter: Mumbles 2 South Gower 6

Training at Underhill on Tuesday as usual.

Player of the match went to Rhyddian for running good lines and scoring a try, well done.

Parents please note all our home game will be at Bishopston.... next week is home to Penlan.

GAME V South Gower (Home)

The game this Sunday will be at Bishopston. Get there for ten O'clock .

I have the water bottles and would like someone to help fill the bottle and carry it to the troops, as I will be busy refereeing.

Weather is forecast to be good, make the most of it as there are bound to be more challenging days as the winter approaches.

Training 17.30 Underhill Swings

Clifton Tour was very much enjoyed and we really held our own. Check out photos on www.dephoto.co.uk. Training with John & Ceri focusing on ruck by Underhill swings 17.30 today.

Team Meeting - Thurs 8 Oct

The coaches are getting together on Thursday at 21:00 at the Rugby Club to make plans for the season ahead - any parents who want to come and contribute are welcome.

Thanks to everyone who came to Clifton - the boys had a great day, finishing off with a fantastic win against St Marys, showing what can be achieved with a bit more confidence and drive (and Thomas T letting rip!).  If anyone has any photos, please email them to me: ceriedwards1@gmail.com - or post them to the blog if you've got access.

See you Tuesday for training.
